According to Cats on the Prowl,  when the Portland Pirates relocate they will no longer be an affiliate to the Florida Panthers. Now the Cats must find a new AHL affiliate. They don't have an ECHL affiliate so they were forced at the start of the year to use the Manchester Monarchs.

With the Portland Pirates moving to Springfield I have made my own picks to relocate AHL teams. Each AHL team will be in the same province/state as its NHL affiliate. Florida Panthers prospect Dryden Hunt has won the Four Broncos Memorial Trophy of the WHL. Hunt had 116 points in the WHL this year. The Four Broncos Memorial Trophy is awarded to the WHL's Player of the Year. Hunt signed with the Panthers at the Trade Deadline.
