It’s over for the AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers the Portland Pirates. The Pirates lost games 4 and 5 in a best of  5 series aganist the Washington Capitals affiliate the Hershey Bears. The Pirates lost 2-1 in game 5.

The Panthers signed Defender Linus Hultstrom from the SHL to a 2 year 2 way deal. Hultstrom was described as the Erik Karrlson of the SHL on Twitter.

Jayce Hawyrulk’s WHL team the Brandon Wheat Kings made the WHL finals.

Mike Matheson was selected to Team Canada in IIHF Worlds. Matheson played a couple of games in the regular season and 5 playoff games. He was impressive in the playoffs alongside Aaron Ekblad.
