After an impressive camp, Juho Lammikko barely missed the Florida Panthers opening roster. The 22 year old Finn didn’t have to wait long as an injury to 4th line center Derek Mackenzie has forced the Panthers to call him up. Lammikko has played two years in the AHL for Springfield putting up 14 goals and 25 assists in 107 total games (he played 1 game in Portland). The 65th overall pick in 2014 is the 2nd player from that draft class to make his NHL debut. Aaron Ekblad, the 1st overall pick by the Panthers made the team his rookie season. Lammikko is the second Panthers player to make his NHL debut this year. In a 2-1 shootout loss against Tampa Bay, rookie defenseman Jacob MacDonald scored his 1st goal in his 1st game which was the lone goal for the Cats. Columbus’s window is closing fast. Artemi Panarin and Sergei Bobrovsky, the star forward and goalie for the Jackets are expected to move on. Panarin has been tied to the Panthers in the rumor mill. The Panthers dropped all three games to Columbus last year.

The Panthers lost Roberto Luongo for 2-4 weeks with an MCL sprain. With that the Panthers will turn to James Reimer who was decent on Saturday. Reimer has been abysmal in his career against Columbus with a record of 2-6-1 and an .891 save percentage in 9 games against them. Michael Hutchinson on the other hand has been phenomenal against the Jackets with a record of 2-1-0 and a .929 save percentage and a shutout. Sergei Bobrovsky has been a brick wall against the Panthers throughout his career with  a record of 12-1-2, a .943 save percentage and a shutout in his career against the Cats.

Here is a look at the projected lines. Note: I am writing this the night before as I have school tomorrow and knowing me my schedule will be hectic or I’ll be too tired so I will be using Columbus’s last recorded lines from Daily Faceoff
