Yesterday afternoon a horrible tragedy happened. A gunman opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. 17 innocent people died making it the second worst school shooting in American History behind Sandy Hook. It hit home to many Panther fans as some live near Parkland. However several players live in Parkland. Thankfully the players families were all okay. Last night the mood in the dressing room was somber. The Vancouver Canucks paid a classy tribute to the victims in Parkland. The Panthers came away with an emotional 4-3 win which helped lift the spirits of Panthers nation. Sports can have a very big effect on emotions. You could obviously see the players and coaches distracted. Bob Boughner looked like he had aged 5 years in the past couple of days. Coming home with a win on a difficult day is good for the Panthers. The Panthers are a very classy organization and will definitely help the Broward community heal. Now we mourn the innocents who died and we look towards putting in better measures to stop school shootings. South Florida needed a win last night and the Panthers delivered.
