Let’s look at who is on the Panthers trade block

Dale Tallon is rumored to be looking for a scoring winger. This is not good news for Radim Vrbata. Vrbata although he has 7 assists, has only scored 3 goals all of them in a hat trick effort against the Anaheim Ducks. At 36 years old Vrbata is in his last year according to some Czech sources. Could he be on the move?

Alex Petrovic (D)- When the Panthers traded fan favorite defenseman Erik Gudbranson to the Vancouver Canucks, the team called on Alex Petrovic to be the team’s physical defenseman. However that didn’t work out. Petrovic has been invisible on the ice in these past couple of years and Bob Boughner has benched him on multiple occasions in favor of young Mackenzie Weegar. Petrovic is a good bottom pairing defenseman and like Stephen Kampfer last year, if he doesn’t get much playing time he will request a trade. I think the team wants to hold onto Petrovic but if they can acquire a couple of good young depth defensemen then I think they will pull the trigger.

Value: 3rd Pairing Defenseman

Keith Yandle (D)- Keith Yandle is a defensive liability and he was a Rowe pickup. Yandle has been okay this year but he is still prone to mistakes. However I think Dale Tallon wants to get him traded although Yandle will likely decline it with his NTC.

Value: Top 4 Defenseman

Radim Vrbata (RW)- The 36 year old Czech could be a part of a deal to acquire a younger scorer. Vrbata can’t seem to keep up with Vincent Trocheck and he is sorta struggling. If the Panthers want to go take a crack at the postseason they keep Vrbata. If they want to tank, they ship him off to a contender.
