Florida Panthers sign Prospect Foward Jonathan Ang

The Florida Panthers have added some depth to a good Forward core today by signing F Jonathan Ang to a three year entry level contract. This season in the OHL Ang has scored 12 Goals and 18 Assists in 22 Games for the Peterborough Petes. A 4th round pick, Ang was the first player of Malaysian heritage to be drafted in the NHL. However, fans will likely not see Ang this year because you can only call up an OHL player on an emergency basis. For now hopefully the Panthers can pick it up in the win column as they are slowly moving down and out of the playoff race even this early in the season. Hopefully, Ang’s Petes have a great playoff run, but if it falters he will bring some much needed depth to the struggling Springfield Thunderbirds.
