Round One was an interesting round for sure. For one thing, none of the series went to 7 games for the first time since 2001 and in round two that year, 3/4 series went to 7. After the first round And the way they have been playing recently, the Nashville Predators might win the cup. The red hot Preds swept the Blackhawks dynasty thanks to Pekka Rinnie. I would not be surprised to see Mike Fisher host Lord Stanley’s chalice this summer. Nashville has a weak offense though. However, Roman Josi and PK Subban provide scoring help from the blue line. Another team that interests me are the Oilers. In my opinion, there never has been a team that has won the cup thanks to one skater (some teams have won it thanks to one goalie). I think that Edmonton is similar. Not only is Connor McDavid an elite player after his first NHL season, he has support up front from Leon Dratsial, Jordon Eberle, Patrick Maroon and more. Oscar Klefbom and Adam Larsson have become good defenders and Talbot is legit. In the east, I think the Capitals/Pens series is overrated. The east doesn’t have any legit cup winning teams other than Pittsburgh still in it. Also, what happened to Chicago?
