The Panthers have signed Goaltender Sam Montembeault to an ELC. He was the 77th overall pick by the Panthers in the 2015 NHL Draft. He put up a .901 Save Percentage and a 2.63 GAA in 2015-16 with the Blaineville-Bolsbriand Armanda of the QMJHL. His record was 17-19-6-2 and he had 3 shutouts. I’m guessing he will be the Panthers’ AHL affiliate’s starter next year but he could be Luongo’s new backup. According to Cats on the Prowl he was the only relevant player on his team.
