Well it’s been a tough week. If it were the regular season we would have gone 1-0-2. However since it is the playoffs we went 1-2. We are down 3-2 heading into tomorrow’s game with possible elimination. But I think we will prevail.

Game Recaps

Sunday @ Islanders        L3-4 OT

This game should’ve not gotten away from us. The Islanders crowd was very good. When Ekblad’s goal was overturned the place went nuts and it mounted a comeback. Smith did a great job. Hickey scored the OT winner.

Wednesday @ Islanders    W2-1

Lou did well and we won thanks to Purcell and Petrovic. The Islanders crowd was awful compared to Sunday’s game. The place wasn’t loud. Tavares scored for the Islanders.

Friday vs. Islanders     L1-2 2OT

I am not happy about this one at all. Lou blew an easy save at the end. This was a key game. The Islanders are now heading back to Brooklyn with momentum and they have an opportunity to eliminate us. Even though I had a 10:30 soccer game this morning I would’ve rather have gone to Triple Overtime and see what happened. Trocheck came back and Bjugstad got injured.

Smith cools down

After a huge 8 points in 3 games, Smith has cooled down failing to put up any points in his past two games. However Smith has done well. Hopefully when he gets reused to playing with Trocheck he can do well.

Trocheck in, Bjugstad out

The Panthers received some good news when they learned that Vincent Trocheck was coming back. However in Double OT they lost clutch centerman Nick Bjugstad to a head injury. Even though the Panthers beat writers are saying he’s ok and I hate to be pessimistic but I think Bjugstad will be out for a week or two at most.

I’m getting sick of the Islanders

Five games in and I’m so sick of playing the New York Islanders. But that is what the playoffs are about. They are about you getting so sick of the other team something happens.

What to expect in Game 6

Physical Game with lots of goals- I think the Cats will come away with a 4-1 victory in game 6. It will be a very physical game and these guys will get so tired. The Panthers are bound to just start scoring so much.

Game Previews

Game 6-  Sunday       @ Islanders        7pm     NBCSN, SUN- This is a crucial game. We need a victory. I expect them to play the hardest they possibly can. It will be a great game.

Game 7- Tuesday      vs. Islanders        TBD       TV TBD- If we win than game 7 will happen. I expect it to be a physical game. Sadly I have a huge test the next day so I won’t be able to stay up for all of it.
