For the second time in Franchise History the Florida Panthers clinched first place in their division. The Cats beat Montreal 4-1 with goals from Barkov (28), Bjugstad (15), McKegg (2) and Hudler (16). Luongo was spectacular in net making 32 saves. The Panthers got some help from the New York Rangers who came back to defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2. It was also the first time in franchise history the Cats got over the 100 point mark with their 101st point and 46th win of the season. The last time the Panthers clinched the division title was in 2011-12 also the last time they made the playoffs in a weak Southeast division finishing 38-26-18 adding up to 94 points. They were eliminated in 7 games by the New Jersey Devils in round 1. This time the Cats are for real winning a tough division. The Panthers have two games to go one on April 7th at Ottawa and April 9th vs Carolina. The playoffs start April 13th.
