GAME ONE- Sunday Feb 7- Detroit 4, Florida 1
This game was a disaster. I’m not going to talk about it. As far as I’m concerned, this game doesn’t exist.
GAME TWO- Tuesday Feb 9- Florida 2, Detroit 1
This game looked like a repeat of Sunday’s game early on as Filip Zadina quickly notched his first goal of the season on an odd angle shot. Zadina scored following a turnover in the neutral zone as Dylan Larkin led the rush and found Zadina. A bad pass by Keith Yandle was not controlled well by Mackenzie Weegar who turned it over to Larkin. Larkin found Zadina who kicked the puck to his skate and got it past Bobrovsky on a brtual goal given up.
The Panthers took a bit to strike back, but they finally did when Jonathan Huberdeau sent a beautiful pass to Alex Wennberg in front of the net to tie the game up.
Bobrovsky buckled down and played one of his best games in a Panthers uniform, picking up 31 saves on 32 shots, including an incredible sequence, where he robbed Darren Helm three times in a row. Bob’s swagger began to return and it is crucial that this keeps up.
Patric Hornqvist deflected Aaron Ekblad’s shot for the game winner.
Notes
I didn’t spend that long on this article, because I really wanna focus on the Tampa preview. The Tampa series is crucial.
