Aleksander Barkov was named the 10th captain in Florida Panthers franchise history today as former captain Derek Mackenzie passed the torch to the 23 year old Finnish phenom today. Barkov along with others was a heavy favorite for the captaincy to his skill and his nature and his well liked status in the locker room. I am very excited for this new era of Panthers hockey.
