Sounds like Panthers Defender Alex Petrovic is on the trade block according to TSN”s Bob McKenzie. Let’s take a look at some scenarios for a Petrovic trade.
Florida trades D Alex Petrovic, W Jayce Hawryluk, 2018 5th round pick and a conditional 2019 5th round pick to Arizona for W Max Domi
Why? Well mainly I saw a tweet by someone I follow about Domi going to the Panthers. It was a fan. Does it make sense? Well Arizona has good offensive defenders so they do need a defensive one like Petrovic. Also although Domi has been solid for the Yotes, the way that John Chayka is building the Coyotes doesn’t seem like Domi would do well. Hawryluk hasn’t panned out. Trading Domi doesn’t make a lot of sense for the rebuilding Coyotes unless they draft a forward with the 5th pick.
Florida trades D Alex Petrovic to Edmonton for F Anton Slepyshev and a conditional 2019 4th round pick
Edmonton needs defenders. Slepyshev might look a little underwhelming but my gut says the Russian has potential to be a big star. I’d put Slepyshev on the 4th line. Since the 1 for 1 would be slightly in Edmonton’s favor there is a conditional pick. In my opinion, the condition should be on Slepyshev getting 20 points.
Florida trades D Alex Petrovic, C Nick Bjugstad and the 15th overall pick to Montreal for W Max Pacioretty
I like this idea. Montreal gets a center and a defensive defenseman as well as a second 1st rounder. Florida gets Pacioretty.
What do you guys think?
