With several thousand dollars going to charity on the line, the New York Rangers let everyone down in a big way. A 5-0 loss to the Flyers eliminated the Florida Panthers from playoff contention and also lost a Panther bandwagon of pledged money that was going to go to Henrik Lundqvist’s foundation. This is the second season straight the Panthers have missed the playoffs since their analytic reconstruction following the franchise record 2015-16 season. This is heartbreaking for many Panther fans as the Panthers have been nearly unbeatable since the all star break. However bad luck such as the Devils, Jackets and Flyers going on winning streaks and losing 3 what should’ve been wins the Panthers missed the postseason. However when you start that poorly to the regular season, you have little hope to make the playoffs so hats off to the boys for this phenomenal run. Hopefully this success translates into them starting hot next year and clinching a playoff berth. The Panthers finish off their season tonight with a makeup game at TD Garden. For the 4th time in the past 24 days, the Panthers will play the Bruins. This game will make up for the cancelled game on January 4th which was cancelled after a blizzard hit Boston. The Panthers have done well against the 4th best team in the league this year going 2-1-0 against the Bruins. It was a fun ride since the all star break. It is now time for the offseason.
