JOKINEN BACK, BJUGSTAD SHOULD BE BACK ON TUESDAY

Jussi Jokinen is back from injury. He returned on Thursday and was pointless against the San Jose Sharks. Nick Bjugstad is skating and he will return on the road trip.

PANTHERS TRADE KAMPFER TO THE RANGERS FOR MCILRATH

The Panthers traded Defenseman Steven Kampfer to the Rangers for Defenseman Dylan McIlrath. Kampfer, the team’s former 7th defenseman was unhappy with his playing time and apparently requested a trade. He was put on waivers but went unclaimed and then was traded. Kampfer only played 1 game and that was the Brutal game in Buffalo that no one minced words about. McIlrath a former 10th overall pick in 2010, is a physical defenseman and is a great fighter. He is like Erik Gudbranson but has a little more of an offensive punch. He has 2 career goals and both were assisted by former Ranger and now new teammate Keith Yandle. The Cats will have to give up a 2018 7th rounder if McIlrath plays 30+ games this year.

HARPER ON WAIVERS

Shane Harper has been put on waivers. He had 2 goals this year both scored in the Colorado game. If he clears he should report to Springfield.

GRIFFITH CLAIMED OFF WAIVERS

The Panthers claimed the 2015-16 AHL leader in scoring on Saturday off waivers. Seth Griffith who had 77 points in 57 games last year for Providence of the AHL and was claimed from Toronto.
