The Panthers beat the Devils in OT. Aleksander Barkov had 2 points, including the Overtime winner. I was at the game.

THIS WEEK’S GAMES

Oct 15     vs. Detroit  (0-1-0)         7pm

The Panthers hope to defend the BB&T Center from Detroit. The Wings won the last two games with Pavel Datsyuk scoring 2 goals in each game. He is now in the KHL and the only one on the Red Wings roster now who is a threat is Dylan Larkin. Larkin is the fastest player in the NHL but his teammates aren’t close to his speed. The key is to try and shut down Larkin and the Wings offense will collapse.

Oct 18    @ Tampa Bay  (1-0-0)       7:30pm

The NHL’s newest serious rivalry takes off. The Panthers and Lightning fans spent a lot of time bashing each other on Twitter. The Panthers won 4 out of 5 games last year. The Bolts are the favorite to win the East and the Cup by the so-called “experts”. The Cats must watch Steven Stamkos. They did a great job last year and it must continue.

Oct 20     vs. Washington     7:30pm

The Capitals come into town led by Alexander Ovechkin and Braden Holtby as they hope to have better playoff success but have to get through the regular season first.

Editor’s Note Oct 21: I messed up. Thought we played Colorado on Oct 20 but we played Washington on the 20th and Colorado on the 22nd. Will fix it.
