After a week of speculation the Florida Panthers have finally confirmed their two new assistant coaches. AHL Head Coach Scott Allen and Sabers Assistant Coach Dave Barr join the Panthers bench with Gerard Gallant. Expect Barr to run the powerplay after running a successful one in Buffalo. Allen has  made the NHL in coaching for the second time after serving as a minor league coach for 21 years (3 of those years were with the Islanders). He spent half the year behind the Portland Pirates bench as a head coach after Tom Rowe was promoted to Assistant GM who is now the GM. Barr spent 13 years in the NHL. Barr has spent time as an assistant coach with Buffalo, New Jersey, Minnesota and Colorado. The new head coach of Springfield Hockey LLC. is Geordie Kinnear. Kinnear has spent 10 years in the Hurricanes organization with Charlotte and Albany which were Carolina’s AHL affiliates. Welcome to the Panthers guys!
