Even though the Panthers aren’t playing it was a busy Panther week. Let’s break it down.
Jagr Resigned
The Panthers have resigned Jaromir Jagr. Jagr has signed a 1 year deal worth $4 million. The 44 year old winger is a Bill Masterson Trophy finalist and put up 27 goals and a team leading 66 points in 2015-16.
Portland Pirates moving to Springfield
For some reason the Portland Pirates are moving to Springfield, Massachusetts. I truthfully think it’s a bad idea. Springfield is not a good city to live in. Plus it happened so sudden it’s just disgusting. It also leaves the Panthers without an AHL affiliate.
Management Moves
Tom Rowe has been promoted to GM and Dale Tallon to President of Hockey Ops. Eric Joyce is the Assistant GM. I think it’s a bad idea to not have Dale as a GM. I’ll publish an article on that.
Hockeyfest was a blast
Hockeyfest was a blast. I had been sick the whole week and Saturday I was feeling much better so I went to Hockeyfest. I had a great time. I played ice hockey for the first time. I met Derek MacKenzie, Nick Bjugstad, Randy Moller and Bill Lindsay. They were all very nice. I got autographs from D-Mac, Nick Bjugstad, Bill Lindsay and Stanley C Panther. Bjugstad was very nice. He stayed for over two hours to make sure everyone got autographs. While my ice hockey skills weren’t that good, I was doing really good in Street Hockey. I want to thank The Panther Organization for such a great event. I also want to thank all the Panthers players, broadcasters, reporters and others who worked in the Panther Organization for a great day. It got my spirits up after a week I spent out sick.
Twitter Questions
I did not get any Twitter questions this time. If you have any questions on Twitter use #PUTSPantherProwler.
That’s it for this edition of The Panther Prowler. See you next time. Also Happy Mother’s Day.
