The Panthers have beat the hurricanes twice this year, both times in Raleigh. October 13th saw a 4-1 win which saw Bjugstad, Brickley, Barkov and Jokinen scoring. Then Roberto stood on his head to give us a 2-0 win in win number 3 of the 12 game winning streak on December 18th Mitchell and Smith scored in that game.

Derek MacKenzie will play tonight as well as Garrett Wilson. D-Mac missed Thursday’s loss in Ottawa with a sore foot. According to Gallant , MacKenzie was taken out of the lineup as a precaution. Mike Matheson will play in his 3rd NHL Game after being recalled to take the injured Steven Kampfer’s place in the lineup. Gallant said Kampfer is questionable for the start of the playoffs but Erik Gudbranson is ready. Tonight’s goalies are former Canuck pals Roberto Luongo and Eddie Lack. Carolina in it’s past 10 games away from the PNC Arena (their home arena) are 4-1-5. That’s a lot of Overtime Losses.
